Marketing Director

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marketing Director to lead our      marketing initiatives and manage the execution of our overall marketing strategy. This role is responsible for crafting and implementing a comprehensive marketing plan, managing      vendor and consultant relationships, and ensuring consistent and effective communication with key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in legal marketing and be well-versed in strategy development, client relationship management, content coordination, digital marketing, and industry-specific recognitions. This position reports directly to the Management Committee (MC) of the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Marketing Strategy Development and Execution
  • Develop and implement a strategic marketing plan that aligns with the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Drive marketing initiatives across various channels to build and strengthen the firm’s brand, reputation, and market positioning.
  • Coordinate with the MC to ensure alignment with overall firm strategies and priorities, while communicating progress and results.
  1. RFP (Request for Proposal) Management
  • Lead the RFP response process, collaborating with internal teams to draft proposals that highlight the firm’s capabilities and differentiate us from competitors.
  • Ensure timely and accurate responses to RFPs, tailoring messaging to address client-specific needs and positioning the firm as a top choice.
  1. Awards, Recognitions, and Chambers Submissions
  • Oversee external consultants responsible for coordinating submissions for key industry awards and recognitions, including Chambers submissions.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and compelling representation of the firm’s achievements and expertise.
  • Track deadlines, gather necessary documentation, and monitor the status for each submission, ensuring successful recognition of the firm’s accomplishments.
  1. Vendor and Consultant Management
  • Manage relationships with all marketing-related vendors, including public relations and content consultants, to ensure alignment and consistency with the firm’s branding and messaging objectives.
  • Supervise the content consultant to ensure timely and quality production of written and visual content that supports the firm’s business development goals.
  1. Digital Media Strategy
  • Oversee external consultants responsible for executing digital marketing strategies, including social media management, to increase brand visibility and engagement.
  • Collaborate with consultants to develop and refine content that resonates with potential clients and industry influencers, ensuring alignment with the firm’s branding and business development goals.
  • Review analytics and key metrics provided by consultants to assess the effectiveness of digital campaigns, providing guidance to optimize results and enhance engagement with target audiences.
  • Ensure that all digital content produced by consultants adheres to the firm’s brand voice and reflects industry standards.
  1. Content Development and Coordination
  • Oversee content creation and strategy, ensuring all materials reflect the firm’s brand voice and adhere to legal industry standards.
  • Collaborate with practice area leaders to identify content opportunities and develop thought leadership materials (e.g., articles, case studies, blogs).
  • Coordinate with internal teams to source content ideas and feedback, producing materials that are aligned with the firm’s marketing and business development objectives.
  1. Public Relations (PR) and Media Relations
  • Work closely with consultants to align PR strategies with the firm’s branding objectives, increasing visibility and enhancing the firm’s public image and reputation.
  • Oversee media response strategies and maintain consistency in messaging across all media interactions.
  1. Stakeholder Reporting and Communication
  • Report regularly to the MC on marketing initiatives, progress, and KPIs, offering insights and recommendations based on data-driven analysis.
  • Facilitate communication between marketing vendors and internal stakeholders, ensuring a smooth workflow and clear understanding of project goals and timelines.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for all marketing inquiries, managing information flow to ensure alignment and responsiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field (advanced degree preferred). Equivalent, relevant years of experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 7-10+ years of marketing experience within a law firm or professional services environment, with demonstrated expertise in legal marketing.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, including public relations and content consultants.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing platforms, analytics tools, and CRM systems.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a strong attention to detail and ability to produce polished content.
  • Strong understanding of the legal industry landscape, including market trends, key players, and best practices for brand differentiation.

Compensation: $130,000-$165,000, depending on experience.
