Litigation Docketing Clerk
The Litigation Docketing Clerk will be responsible for accurately calculating, entering, and monitoring all litigation deadlines, including court-imposed dates, statutes of limitations, and filing deadlines for state and federal courts. This includes reviewing incoming court documents, orders, and notices to identify critical dates and ensure timely entry into the firm’s docketing system.
The Clerk will maintain and update matter information in the firm’s calendar and docketing database, ensuring data integrity and accuracy at all times. This role requires regular communication with attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants regarding upcoming deadlines, scheduling conflicts, and procedural requirements.
Additional responsibilities include researching court rules and local procedures for various jurisdictions, preparing docket reports for attorneys and practice group leaders, and assisting with the implementation of docketing policies and procedures. The Clerk will also monitor electronic court filing systems, including CM/ECF, and distribute court notifications to appropriate team members. This position will also assist staff and attorneys as needed.
This is an in-office position requiring 5 days in-office.
Qualifications
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written. The role demands an agile and entrepreneurial approach to problem-solving, with a knack for being both nimble and resourceful under pressure.
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Experience with docketing platforms is preferred. Familiarity with electronic court filing systems across multiple jurisdictions is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) Adobe, and DocuSign. Experience with Document Management Systems a plus.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
