Croke Fairchild Duarte & Beres is pleased to announce that Carson Griffis has joined the firm as counsel in the Litigation & Investigations practice group. Carson focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation at both the trial and appellate levels. He brings a broad range of experience in both the public and private sectors, particularly in appellate litigation.
Prior to joining the firm, Carson served as a supervising attorney in the Civil Appeals Division of the Office of the Illinois Attorney General where he successfully briefed and argued appeals in the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, Illinois Supreme Court, and all districts of the Illinois Appellate Court. Carson also handled appeals involving a variety of claims against state officers and administrative agencies.
In addition, Carson served as an associate in the appellate practice group of a national law firm, where he litigated appeals for both private and public sector clients, and regularly assisted in drafting critical motions in complex cases in state and federal trial courts. He also served as a law clerk to Justice David W. Ellis in the Illinois Appellate Court, First District, and as an Assistant Appellate Defender in the Office of the State Appellate Defender.
Carson received his J.D. from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, and a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
