Recognized as one of the fastest-growing certified women-owned law firms in the nation, CFDB delivers excellence in client service and legal acumen, focused on meeting the needs of the modern business enterprise. CFDB welcomes:

Eugene A. Schoon: Senior Counsel, Litigation Group

Eugene A. Schoon enhances CFDB’s Litigation practice group. In his more than 35 years of practice at Sidley Austin LLP and Reiter Burns LLP, Eugene has counseled hundreds of corporate and individual clients on liability insurance issues and claims. In addition to advising on claims, Eugene has worked with client risk management managers to structure insurance programs that minimize risk and eliminate gaps. He also handles product liability defense matters, with particular emphasis on mass torts, cross-border litigation and class actions.

Charles E. Reiter III: Senior Counsel, Outside General Counsel Group

Charles E. Reiter III, known as Chuck, brings his wealth of experience in healthcare law to the firm’s Outside General Counsel practice group. CFDB’s commitment to providing exceptional legal counsel in the healthcare sector aligns seamlessly with Chuck’s leadership. He has served in a wide range of roles, including as general counsel and corporate secretary for a major academic medical center and large faculty practice corporation, as well as a community hospital. His background in risk management, compliance and quality improvement programs in the healthcare industry resonates with CFDB’s ethos of providing forward-thinking legal services.

Samantha Nunez: Associate, Public Finance Group

Samantha Nunez joins CFDB as an Associate in the Public Finance practice group. With over a decade of experience in public bond offering work at the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, Samantha has worked with bond counsel and financial advisors to facilitate municipal and green bond issuances. She has assisted in the preparation and review of official statements, disclosures and documents including BINA-required materials and underwriting, arbitrage, tax and closing papers. Additionally, Samantha has a background in navigating public entity compliance with the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board and the Security and Exchange Commission.

“We are thrilled to have Eugene, Chuck, and Samantha joining the CFDB team,” said Patrick Croke, Founding Partner of CFDB. “Now more than ever, the future of business law depends on the integration of new ideas across multiple areas of practice. The diverse talents of these new hires strengthen our ability to partner with clients in advancing their key initiatives.”
