Croke Fairchild Duarte & Beres has an opening for a mid to senior-level Paralegal to support our Real Estate and Corporate Groups. This is a hybrid position in our Chicago office.  The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years or more of experience in the areas of both commercial and residential real estate transactions including title & survey review, finance (loan documentation), and general knowledge of the legal process as it relates to the financial services associated with a real estate transaction. Previous experience with a law firm, title company, or financial institution is required.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Drafting and coordination of deeds, closing documents, entity resolutions, escrow instructions and other real property related documents.
  • Attention to due diligence.
  • Order title and survey; preparation of title and survey review.
  • Research, prepare and file UCC-1 and UCC-3 filing statements.
  • Order UCC, litigation, tax lien and other searches.
  • Order and obtain title clearance documents, pay-off letters and certified charters and certificates of good standing.
  • Assist with the formation and management of corporations, limited liability companies, and limited partnerships, including preparation of formation documents, obtaining EINs and filing annual reports.
  • Assist with document work including redlines, PDF to Word conversion, and formatting requests.
  • Organize and file documents on the document management system.

  • Ability to multi-task and balance multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and problem solve.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and sense of pride in personal work product.
  • Excellent computer skills, including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Paralegal/legal education preferred.
  • Prior law firm, title company, and/or financial institution experience required.
  • Must be able to work individually, as well as in a team setting.
