ANDREW (AJ) SCHUYLER

AJ Schuyler is an associate in the Croke Fairchild Duarte & Beres Employment & Labor practice group. AJ advises clients on a wide range of employment law matters, provides employment-related guidance in corporate transactions, and litigates complex employment disputes.
AJ advises companies of various sizes and industries on day-to-day employment issues, including personnel policies, workplace accommodations, employee classification, restrictive covenants, leave management, and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, such as Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other employment-law statutes.
In corporate transactions, AJ performs comprehensive employment-related due diligence, identifying potential risks associated with wage and hour compliance, restrictive covenants, workforce integration, and pending or potential employment claims. His experience helps clients navigate employment considerations effectively during mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions.
AJ also represents employers in state and federal courts, arbitration, and administrative agencies. His litigation practice covers allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour violations, wrongful discharge, and restrictive covenant enforcement. AJ manages all stages of litigation, from initial case assessment, discovery, and motion practice, through resolution.
In addition to traditional employment law, AJ advises clients in the rapidly expanding esports industry. Leveraging his experience as a competitor in international esports events, he offers unique insights into employment compliance, regulatory frameworks, and best practices for esports organizations and stakeholders.
AJ earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law, where he served as Production Editor for the Journal of Law, Technology & Policy and President of OUTLaw. He also interned for the Honorable Bernice B. Donald of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
Outside of his practice, AJ competes in tennis tournaments, streams esports matches, and enjoys spending time with his husband and their dog Ollie.
