BENJAMIN TAYLOR
Assistant Controller

Ben has over 25 years’ experience in corporate accounting and finance, working at almost all department levels and across multiple industries including hospitality, reinsurance, custom content marketing, education, and management consulting services. Through all of his various roles, Ben strives to identify and maintain process efficiencies that streamline accounting transactions leading to quicker and more accurate financial reporting and business analytics for internal and external client needs.

Most recently, Ben was the Director of Revenue at The Chartis Group, LLC, where he led a team of four through the monthly billing, revenue recognition and reporting, and cash collections processes, in addition to reconciling deferred and unbilled revenue and work-in-process (WIP) project expenses for the firm. Prior to that, Ben was the Assistant Controller of Perspectives Charter Schools in the Near South Side, where, among other routine month-end tasks and reporting, he reconciled and maintained the construction accounting and debt service reporting for the school’s newest campus, the Perspectives Leadership Academy, located in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood.

Ben received his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Hillsdale College and his Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is also a registered Certified Public Accountant in the state of Illinois. A Michigan transplant, Ben and his family have called the North Side of the city home for 20+ years.
