David comes to CROKE FAIRCHILD DUARTE & BERES with a broad range of experience in the finance and accounting fields. As a senior executive, he has led multiple companies to improved financial performance, operational discipline, and stronger business results. David brings a hands-on financial and operational background and a record of success across public, private, and private-equity-backed companies facing increasing competitive pressures, with revenues ranging from $50M to $5B.
He is recognized for his strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills, as well as his ability to design and implement innovative solutions to financial and operational challenges. A collaborative communicator, David is known for building alignment across diverse stakeholder groups and driving transparency, accountability, and data-driven decision-making. His experience spans global, high-growth, and established business environments.
Before joining Croke Fairchild as Chief Financial Officer, David served as CFO of APS (Aircraft Propeller Service), a global aerospace MRO organization. At APS, he led finance, accounting, and operational support functions, strengthened financial governance, and advanced enterprise-wide performance initiatives across multiple international locations.
Prior to APS, David served as Chief Financial Officer of Construction Technology Laboratories (CTLGroup), an engineering consulting and material science firm, where he drove EBITDA improvement initiatives and implemented operational enhancements across all business lines while instilling a commercial mindset throughout the professional-services organization.
Earlier in his career, David served as CFO of Translational Research Management, a healthcare services company focused on oncology clinical research, and as CFO of Valdes Engineering. He also held senior leadership roles at Brightstar Corporation (CFO, U.S. & Canada), Sears Holdings (Business Unit CFO), and Motorola, where he spent the first half of his career.
David received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Loyola University Chicago and has spent his 25+ year career improving financial and business performance for companies across the Chicagoland area. He resides in Arlington Heights, Illinois, with his family.
