Jonathan Harris has more than four decades of experience as ERISA, employee benefits and executive compensation counsel. Over the course of his career he has dealt with virtually every type of issue in every type of context. He has vast experience addressing benefits issues, including mergers, divestitures and spin-offs; plan drafting, negotiating service provider contracts, governmental audits and corrections, claims and appeals and plan investment options. Jonathan has been responsible for providing plan fiduciaries of multi-billion dollar benefit plans guidance on how best to avoid fiduciary breach liability and how best to structure plan governance most effectively.

He adds value by being focused on how to accomplish corporate and benefits -specific objectives while mitigating potential liability.

Jonathan joined CROKE FAIRCHILD DUARTE & BERES in 2026, after having been a partner at the Katten law firm and then transitioning to becoming in-house benefits counsel for Amoco/BP, Kraft/Mondelez, PwC and McDonald’s.
