MICHAEL LEFEVOUR
Partner

Mike LeFevour is a Litigation & Investigations partner in the Chicago office of CROKE FAIRCHILD DUARTE & BERES, where he represents clients in complex, high-stakes disputes across the country. He has broad experience defending and prosecuting claims involving products liability, commercial contracts, mass torts, public nuisance, pharmaceuticals, antitrust, class actions, employment matters, government investigations, and bankruptcy-related litigation. Mike has significant experience trying cases to verdict in both state and federal courts.

Mike has served as a key member of trial teams in some of the most complex and closely watched matters in recent years, including nationwide opioid litigation and multidistrict proceedings involving pharmaceutical products. Mike played a central role in defending Allergan in government investigations and civil litigation related to prescription opioids, participating in multiple multi-month jury trials across several jurisdictions, including a six-month New York state court trial—the longest civil jury trial in the state’s history.  He was a key member of the trial team that secured a complete defense verdict for Gilead Sciences following a six-week jury trial in the Northern District of California, defeating claims seeking billions in alleged damages related to HIV medications.

In commercial matters, Mike has represented clients in complex contract and licensing disputes, including serving as counsel in a plaintiff-side dispute regarding a collaboration and licensing agreement that was resolved on the eve of trial. He has also represented public accounting firms in regulatory investigations, including successfully closing a PCAOB investigation without any adverse action, and has acted as counsel to private equity firms and portfolio companies in a wide range of disputes, from founder and limited partner conflicts to employment and personal injury matters.

Prior to joining CFDB, Mike was a litigation partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP.

Mike earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame Law School, where he was a member of the Notre Dame Law Review and an Academic Merit Scholarship recipient. He received a B.A. from Yale University and was a member of Yale’s lightweight crew team. Following law school, Mike clerked for Judge Charles R. Wilson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

Michael is actively involved in community service, including by serving as a board member of Little Heroes League.
