Timothy Knudsen Selected Among Crain’s 2020 “Notable LGBTQ Executives”

Croke Fairchild Duarte & Beres is pleased to announce that partner Timothy “Timmy” Knudsen was selected to Crain’s 2020 Notable LGBTQ Executives list on behalf of his longstanding efforts to promote diversity and inclusion (and access to justice) within the Chicagoland community.
Knudsen was included alongside 56 fellow LGBTQ executives who “have made significant contributions to advancing equality within the workplace or in the Chicago area,” according to Crain’s cited methodology. “It’s an extraordinary list of people and companies that have committed so much to the LGBTQ community,” said Knudsen. “It’s very humbling, and a special honor for me to be counted among this year’s group.”
The annual “Notables” publication highlighted Knudsen’s new role spearheading Croke Fairchild Duarte & Beres’ pro bono initiatives as well as his prior representation of undocumented LGBTQ people in asylum cases—recently, a Palestinian gay man in his successful claim. The profile also referenced Knudsen’s travels to the southern border to work in ICE detention centers representing detainees in their asylum cases, in partnership with the National Immigration Justice Center and his appointment to the Zoning Board of Appeals by Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot in 2019.
