August 31, 2021
Croke Fairchild Duarte & Beres is pleased to announce Emily Collins has joined its team as an associate. Emily’s practice centers on transactional law with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, funds, securities, corporate governance and disclosure matters, and general corporate work.
Prior to joining Croke Fairchild, Emily was an associate at Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP where she supported clients across multiple industries including dental, aviation, manufacturing, fintech and medical device. She has served as counsel to private and public companies, guiding them through mergers, acquisitions, private and public offerings, bankruptcies and other corporate matters. She has counseled private equity firms through strategic sales on both the buy and sell sides and advised public company clients on all aspects of securities reporting including proxy statements, annual and quarterly reporting, current reports and Section 16 filings. Earlier this year, Emily was named a secondee to a client during a crucial phase of its initial public offering.
“Emily has proven to be a trusted advisor to her clients on many levels,” said Drew Beres, managing partner of Croke Fairchild. “She shares our philosophy that authentic, enduring relationships between attorney and client are the foundation of successful business outcomes, and our clients will appreciate the thoughtful and strategic guidance she brings to their challenges and opportunities. We’re glad she’s on the team and look forward to what’s ahead.”
In addition to transactional law, Emily has a deep commitment to pro bono work. She has been recognized for her work representing asylum-seekers and has provided legal assistance to low-income owners of small businesses and small nonprofit organizations.
“I’m thrilled to join a firm with attorneys who are so well respected in their areas of practice,” said Emily. “The depth of knowledge, the diverse environment and the client-first philosophy at Croke Fairchild are exactly what I was looking for at this pivotal point in my career. I’m looking forward to supporting the transactional team and to hitting the ground running.”
Emily earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law and her bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Minnesota, with a major in Journalism and a minor in French Studies. She is based in Wisconsin.
