Bakhtawar Mirjat is an associate at CROKE FAIRCHILD DUARTE & BERES, where she advises clients at the intersection of finance, digital assets, and emerging technologies. She focuses on cryptocurrency and blockchain-related regulatory matters, fund structures, and corporate finance transactions, helping clients navigate evolving legal frameworks and emerging market opportunities.

In addition to her crypto and finance work, Bakhtawar has significant experience in public finance. She has drafted and negotiated credit and security agreements, bond purchase agreements, and liquidity facilities, conducted legal and financial due diligence, and coordinated complex multi-party closings.

Prior to joining Croke Fairchild, Bakhtawar was an associate at Chapman and Cutler LLP, where she also served on the firm’s Crypto Working Group, monitoring regulatory developments. She has collaborated with startups and emerging companies in Chicago’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, gaining insight into early-stage growth and client needs.

Bakhtawar earned her J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law, where she served as Legal Chair of the GIES Blockchain Summit and led the Privacy and Security Law Society. She holds a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in International Business from American University. Fluent in Urdu and Sindhi, with conversational proficiency in Arabic and French, Bakhtawar brings a global perspective to her work in crypto, finance, and corporate transactions.
