Sebastian Crisan is an Associate at Croke Fairchild Duarte & Beres, where he focuses on advising clients on a broad range of corporate and transactional matters, including entity formation, organization and governance, venture capital, private equity, and mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to joining CFDB, Sebastian worked at a boutique consulting firm, where he advised Fortune 1000 C-Suite executives and corporate boards on director nomination and corporate governance matters. After law school, Sebastian joined the Chicago office of K&L Gates LLP, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, investment management, and other strategic transactions.

While pursuing his J.D., Sebastian served as a law clerk at the Department of Justice, Antitrust Division, where he assisted in investigating corporate activity in violation of the Sherman Act and bringing enforcement actions. He also served as an extern for Judge Charles P. Kocoras in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and as a legal intern in the office of the general counsel at TransUnion, where he assisted on regulatory, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions matters.

Prior to law school, Sebastian served as an investor relations analyst at a private investment fund, where he focused on investment due diligence, fund reporting, and raising capital from institutional investors. Prior to that, he served as an equity analyst at Bloomberg LP, where he advised financial institutions on market research and analysis. Additionally, Sebastian co-founded Privvy, a SaaS startup offering payments management and patient workflow for dentistry practices.

Sebastian serves on the Professional Advisory Board of By the Hand Club for Kids, an after-school program for children in Chicago’s most under-resourced neighborhoods.
